Treating your pain

Joint swelling is a buildup of fluid in the tissues surrounding your joints. Swelling may cause pain, stiffness, redness, and warmth around the affected area. If joint swelling occurs after an injury, be sure to use ice packs, and rest the joint. If you experience fever with your swollen joint, call your healthcare provider immediately.

Why does my shoulder hurt?

Can you move your arm normally, or is your shoulder stiff and painful? Do you feel like your shoulder could pop out of socket? Can you raise your arm above your head? These are a number of questions your physician may ask to help determine the cause of your shoulder condition.
