About Johnathan Thompson
Johnathan Heath Thompson, DO, a fellowship trained Traumatologist. After pursuing a career in emergency medicine as a paramedic, Dr. Thompson went on to become a surgeon with the ultimate goal of becoming an orthopaedic trauma surgeon.
Dr. Thompson received his certification in paramedic medicine from the Itawamba Community College in Fulton, MS. Then he continued his education, graduating from University of Mississippi in Oxford, MS, with a degree in biology. He went on to complete his medical degree at Lincoln Memorial University, DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine, in Harrogate, TN. He finished his internship at Largo Medical Center in Largo, FL, and his residency in orthopaedic surgery at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, in Philadelphia. After his internship, he worked with orthopaedic surgeons in the trauma service at Johnson Medical Center, fulfilling his desire to treat polytruama patients. In 2018, he completed his fellowship in orthopaedic trauma at the Hughston Foundation.
